The many proposals we have tabled over the past 15 years for a wide range of clients – government, corporates, individuals – have inevitably hit the buffers due to regulatory obstacles and government inertia …….Prof Anton Eberhard spelled out the path forward in 1998 – 25 years ago!

Until the Eskom monopoly is dismantled – entirely – we will not progress the energy debate and benefit from the contribution that ALL IPP’s can make to the SA economy.

The generator runs on regular 93 petrol, and powers a microwave, 3-4 lights, a TV, a computer, and a fridge. Installation costs are only for the wiring and the power switch and can be done by a licensed electrician. He would also include a green lamp which indicates when ESKOM power is ON. This non-luxurious but eminently suitable and practical system has been running in my house for several years. Oh yes, and buy a 10-liter and a 5 liter jerry can for the petrol..
